Thor: Ragnarok Mark Ruffalo Fight Hulk Of The Century

Mark Ruffalo knows exactly which of the Avengers will come out on top in Thor: Ragnarok‘s “fight of the century.” The third solo outing for the God of Thunder sees Chris Hemsworth’s Thor reunited with “friend from work” Bruce Banner (Mark Ruffalo) after his home planet of Asgard is invaded by the villainous Hela (Cate Blanchett). The duo set about putting together a crack squad of misfits to combat the Goddess of Death and as a result, Tom Hiddleston’s Loki joins the party.

The trailer for Thor: Ragnarok generated a huge amount of buzz and spawned a few catchphrases in its own right thanks to several hilarious slices of dialogue but perhaps the most tantalizing scene showcased in the trailer was the promise of a gladiatorial showdown between Thor and Hulk. Although the Asgardian maintains that he won…easily, something about Hemsworth’s delivery suggests that the actual fight didn’t quite play out so straightforwardly.

Adding to the already significant hype surrounding Thor: Ragnarok and the bout between Thor and Hulk contained within, Mark Ruffalo has posted a picture of himself playing out the action in miniature form on Instagram. Notably, the Hulk action figure seems to have the upper hand against his blond-haired opponent. Surely Ruffalo wouldn’t be biased?

Fans may recall that Thor and Hulk previously came to blows in The Avengers and although that fight was relatively even, Bruce Banner’s not-so-jolly green giant ultimately seemed to come out on top. However, that battle took place long before Hela had turned Thor’s hammer Mjolnir into a pile of gravel and it will be interesting to see whether Thor can compete with The Hulk without his famous weapon in Ragnarok.

Perhaps the most likely outcome is a convincing victory for Hulk but with both characters featuring in the forthcoming Avengers: Infinity War, Marvel Studios may be hesitant to make one Avenger look significantly stronger than another in the build up to the battle against Thanos. Therefore, the clash between Thor and Hulk could feasibly end in a stalemate of some description.

Some viewers may feel a tad cheated if Thor: Ragnarok fails to deliver a clear winner in the fight between Thor and Hulk but as long as the action in the arena lives up to the hype, the result will likely become a dream. And at least they will not spend twelve rounds dancing around each other.

Well. Fans are dying for the movie's release in cinemas.
